We maintain a wish list of items we need at SAFEchild on a regular basis. Here’s our current list:
Books
The following books are given to children and parents participating in a SAFEchild program:
- Solo Para Chicas – a Spanish-language book for girls about growing up – not available new on Amazon – find it through Walmart here.
- Solo Para Chicos – a Spanish-language book for boys about growing up
- Duerme bebé – a Spanish-language board book for infants and toddlers
- What About Us? A New Parents Guide
- High Five Discipline: Positive Discipline for Happy, Healthy, Well-Behaved Kids – Amazon link
- Consent: The New Rules of Sex Education – a teens’ guide to healthy sexual relationships
- Knowing What to Say: Finding the Words to Fit Any Situation
- My Body Belongs to Me, From My Head to My Toes
- Celebrate Your Body (and Its Changes, Too!)
- Good Moms Have Scary Thoughts
- Who’s the Boss of This Body
- ¿Quién Es El Jefe De Mi Cuerpo? (the Spanish-language version of Who’s the Boss of This Body?)
We also need new or gently used children’s picture books.
Snack items
We provide snacks during parenting classes and also for children who have an appointment at the SAFEchild Advocacy Center. Your donations of the following snack items will help defray our costs:
- Bottled water
- Individually packaged snacks, such as: Pirates Booty; Goldfish crackers; veggie chips; animal crackers; pretzels; applesauce; peanut butter crackers
- Protein-rich snacks such as nut packets
- Granola bars (e.g., Z-Bars, kids Cliff Bars)
- Disposable coffee cups WITH LIDS
- Compostable paper plates and cutlery
Children’s Play Items
- Paperboard puzzles (10-piece up to 50-piece)
- Crayola Model Magic
- Bubble sensory fidget toys and Rubiks cube
Baby supplies
- Infant teething toy
